Practice: Make sure you separate at least 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes before sleep for your meditation practices.
Don't expect to be a zen master in a matter of days or even weeks.
Mastering meditation may take years, especially if not done correctly.
As everything else in life, mastering meditation takes time and effort.
Make sure to sit comfortably and adopt a position where you can avoid falling asleep.
There are countless meditation techniques out there, make sure you find the one that suits you most.
I personally avoid mantras, as these can identify you with some entities and when the time to progress comes it's difficult to change mindset.
Start with breathing exercises and make meditation a formal practice.
While progressing you will notice how the pieces fit and your life starts to have meaning.
Patience: Don't let frustration bother you, remember that quieting your mind takes time and focus.
Meditation is more of an art than science.
For the first months in this journey you will fell that meditation is worthless, because there are no quick effects noticed.
There will be a point where you will lose all interest in meditation or transformation at all.
It is in these dark times it is very important to seek within yourself and get backup by reading any books or info you find out there.
Remember there are many ways to get from one place to another, the one who takes the long path gets the benefit of enjoying better the view.
This is crucial when taking meditation as an alternative to deal with daily problems, not having patience leaves to frustration and emotions to take place.
When emotions take over the mind loses focus and starts to sway.
External aids: Your focus and concentration depend on external factors such as noise, people surrounding and distractions may affect your meditation sessions negatively.
On the other hand there are many ways you can make your meditation a quality experience.
Incense sticks, aromatherapy and music can all influence in your meditation.
Make your meditation room a quiet, comfortable space, where you can spend time.
This room must be different from where you sleep, to avoid falling asleep while meditation.
One of the techniques I love to use that really can improve your meditation is binaural beats.
This technology was discovered over 100 years ago and can be hidden in the background music.
I really recommend this if you're a beginner, just to speed the process and avoid frustration .
