How to Get German Roaches Out of a Home for Good
- 1). Clean your home. If you give the German roaches no food supply, you will be able to get rid of them for good. All areas of your home need to be spotless, particularly areas where food is stored. Cleaning under and around appliances is especially important.
- 2). Remove all items in your home that you don't need. German roaches are attracted to clutter. The more places they have to hide, the more difficult they are to remove.
- 3). Get rid of or fix sources of water such as poor drainage in your yard or a leaky pipe.
- 4). Place bait products around your home, particularly in areas where you believe the roaches might be coming in or hiding. Make sure bait products cannot be accessed by children or pets.
- 5). Apply boric acid inside wall voids, around pipes, underneath large appliances and anywhere else you think the roaches might be coming in.
- 6). Add silica dioxide or diatomaceous earth dust to your control methods. These products can be placed in wall voids or other areas where roaches might get in to kill them.
