Stubborn fat
Unfortunately, a number of people will experience a problem referred to as exercise resistant fat, also known as stubborn fat. Stubborn fat is caused by excess levels of abnormal estrogen in the body and ultimately does not respond to diet or exercise. Estrogen, Testosterone, and Progesterone all require a balancing act in order to maintain a good health. Progesterone has shown to cancel out Estrogen. So when the body has too much estrogen in proportion to progesterone, an Estrogen Dominance occurs which leads to the production of resistant fat.Â
Estrogen, just like many other hormones, is lipopyllic, which means it is strongly bound to fat. When the body contains too much estrogen it will store the excess estrogen in fat cells. Thus the higher the level of abnormal estrogen in the body, the more additional fat will be stored, resulting in a vicious cycle of fat gain, increased estrogen production, and more fat gain.
As fat cells grow larger, ultimately their circulation will be cut off, thus the fat cell will be unable to drain. Over time toxins, estrogen, and fat will accumulate and the fat cells will continue to grow larger. Over the years there have been a number of medical treatments available to remove a certain percentage of stubborn fat, the most popular treatment being liposuction.
Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty or "fat modeling" is a cosmetic surgery which is performed in order to remove fat from various parts of the body. Although classic liposuction has been an extremely popular treatment ever since it was created, the surgery still involves a number of serious health risks and complications. Some complications which have been associated with liposuction include allergic reactions to medications used during the surgery, skin necrosis, puncture of an internal organ, burns, fluid imbalance, and lidocaine toxicity.
Due to the major impact classic liposuction often had on the body, the cosmetic world can now offer a range of much safer and less drastic liposuction alternatives. Some of these treatments which have shown to be most effective are:
Vaser Lipo: a treatment which uses ultra-sound technology to emulsify fats and ultimately sculpt the body. Unlike traditional liposuction, Vaser Lipo has been shown to be much safer. Vaser Lipo London patients may expect far less downtime for recovery and minimal discomfort after the procedure.
Smart Lipo: A special slimming technique which uses a Laser to melt away all unwanted fat deposits. Smart Lipo is much less drastic than traditional liposuction and thus has been used extensively across Europe and has recently been approved by the FDA in the United States.
