• 1). Tap the "Menu" button to open the main menu.

• 4). Type the phone number or contact name in the "To" field.

• 1). Open the "Message" icon. Tap on the icon for touchscreen BlackBerries. Scroll to the icon and click the trackball or trackwheel on non-touch screen BlackBerries.
  
  
• 2). Tap the BlackBerry logo menu key and select "Compose SMS text."
  
  
• 3). Select a contact in your contact list, or click "Use once" and type in the number. Click "Next" or click the trackball or trackwheel.
  
  
• 4). Type your message and click "Send," or click the trackball or trackwheel.
  
  

Windows Mobile OS

• 1). Tap or click "Start" and select "Messaging."
  
  
• 2). Select "Text Messages" to open the SMS screen.
  
  
• 3). Select "Menu," then choose "New" to open the new SMS screen.
  
  
• 4). Enter the phone number in the "To" field, or select a name from your contacts list by clicking "Menu" and selecting "Add Recipient."
  
  
• 5). Type the message in the message box, then click "Send."
