How Do You Strengthen Your Faith? You will find out that certain situations you go through will either strengthen or weaken your faith.
Strengthening your faith is like planting a tree.
Let's take the mustard seed for example; it's one of the smallest seeds but yet produces one of the biggest trees.
When you plant a mustard seed or any seed, it doesn't start to grow instantly.
The growth of the tree is going to be based on how well you take care of the seed.
Look at faith as a planting a garden.
I am not much of a farmer but from watching my mother who grew up farming and loves planting things, I learned that in order for your garden to blossom, you need to take care of it daily.
Every morning, my mother would go outside to water the plants; when she wasn't able to, she woke me up to do it.
As the days go by, I noticed that the plants that received the most care were the ones that produced the best fruits.
The ones that didn't get as much attention, didn't last very long.
The same thing happens to our faith; if we don't properly cultivate it, it will be destroyed by the trials and tribulations of life.
Here are some ways to help you strengthen your faith: 1.
Overcome Fear and Unbelief The greatest obstacle against your faith is fear.
Fear is nothing but False Expectations Appearing Real.
You have to learn how to pray against fear and unbelief.
The only way for you to get what God has for you is not be afraid.
I want you to ask yourself this question and be honest with yourself: What would you do if you weren't afraid? In other words, if you weren't afraid to fail, be embarrassed or face disappointments, how much will you accomplish? I know countless number of people who have allowed fear to ruin God's plans for their lives.
If you decide to step out in faith, don't wait for things to get better before doing it.
Many people live under the false misconception that you should wait to see God move before moving when most of the times God is waiting for us to move.
You may have been praying for a new Job, a new car, or physical healing but you are afraid to completely trust God because you don't think that it's going to happed; with that mindset, nothing will happened.
But when you make up your mind that regardless of the outcome you will still serve God; every mountain that stands in your way will become extinct.
2.
Learn Patience Patience is one of the fruits that many of us struggle with.
Like a garden, you need to give your faith some time to grow because itgo from faith to faith.
No farmer expects to see instant results after planting a seed, but they wait for a particular time and season when that seed will produce fruits.
I know that God has promised to do great things in your life; however, in order for those things to come to pass, you are going to have to learn how to be patient.
It is through your patience that God will reposition you for your next assignment.
It is through your patience that you will know how to accurately follow the leading of the Precious Holy Spirit.
It is through your patience that when everyone is discombaluated because of fear, you will be able to tell to be still and know that He is God.
It is through your patience that God will teach you how to discern the tactics and wiles of Satan.
If you are struggling in this area, don't be alarm because everyone struggles in this area at some point in their walk with God; some struggles more than others.
Pray and ask God to teach you how to be patient.
I want to admonish you that when you ask God to teach you how to be patient, He will allow you to go through certain things that will teach you how to be patient.
Too many times we say prayers and don't really understand what we are praying for.
3.
Spend time in the word of God There is nothing more refreshing than spending time in the presence of God.
In His presence, all of your problems get lifted.
In His presence, you feel genuine love and affection.
In His presence, not even Satan himself can touch you.
In His presence, there is fullness of joy.
In His presence, there is peace.
In His presence, there is joy.
In His presence, you get a new anointing.
In His presence, you get divine instructions that will never mislead you.
In His presence, Our weakness becomes His strength.
When you spend time daily in the presence of God, the rest of your day will go much smoother.
The first thing that I do every morning after brushing my teeth and washing my face is: I get my bible, find a quit area in the house and spend some time alone with my Savior.
Oh how sweet it is.
I can't tell you how many times that I have been feeling very down and weary, but the moment I get in the presence of God, I feel rejuvenated and refreshed.
4.
Consecrate and fast on a regular basis Consecrating and fasting are my least favorite things to do, even though I do them.
It's hard because our flesh does not like to be denied.
There have been so many times that I had to break my fast because of my flesh.
I remember several times that my fasting was going very well until I smelled a sweet aroma coming from the kitchen.
I began to salivate and instantly knew that I was in serious trouble.
I prayed for strength, unfortunately, the only strength that I receive was the one to walk in the kitchen.
I felt great eating the foot, but then after it was all gone, I felt guilty and had to repent.
There were times that I continued my fasting, but there were also times that I didn't because I was hungry.
There are certain breakthroughs that will not come unless you fast and pray.
I pray that this series has been a blessing to you.
I pray that your faith has been encouraged.
Remember that without faith, it is impossible to please God.
