How to Make Green Walnut Hull Tincture

    • 1). Grind the green walnut hulls into a fine powder using a coffee grinder. Those who prefer a more natural approach can use a mortar and pestle.

    • 2). Divide the powder and vodka equally between the two canning jars. Any brand of vodka will work. Seal the jars tightly with their lids.

    • 3). Place the jars in the paper bags to protect the tincture from light.

    • 4). Shake the jars vigorously once each day for a month.

    • 5). Place the cheesecloth over the top of the third canning jar and pour in the tincture. For finer filtration, repeat this process with another clean jar, covering it with an unbleached coffee filter.

    • 6). Tightly seal the jar and label the tincture with the date it was finished and its ingredients.
