Thoughts of failure come around.
That evil snake slithers in to resound.
Confidence dissipates within to make ideas ascend.
That old PTSD voice proclaims it is only pretend.
You feel like you are back in that dark place where you can't get out.
The man who thinks he holds your success in his hands has too much clout! But then you beg in prayer.
Lord, please keep away this pending despair.
Help me Jesus to recall, those little miracles that take place at your beck and call.
Let me share with you my tiny grandson, Damien's plight.
It will help us both turn the darkness into light.
Allow me to tell you how he was born too soon.
He could not breathe on his own and thoughts were full of gloom.
The doctor said his mother would have to drop off milk to be fed.
Before this could happen his liver shut down instead.
Damien is only the measure of a child's football.
Three pounds in weight is not much at all.
Nothing else could be done, but to wait in despair.
That was what the doctor conveyed, but not what our hearts could bear.
Remembering on how we said the Rosary together.
Made the wait so much better! The heavenly Mother heard our prayers before, so why not try again? We put the gloom aside before our prayers would begin.
This time our minds prayed in positive affirmation.
What came about was Damien conquered his inability to be fed with exhilaration! Now with grateful hearts we give praise and glory to her Son! Blessed Virgin Mary has put old Satan on the run!
