The Power of Fire Pit Poetry
This is unfortunate because poetry has the ability to show someone's true nature through sometimes coded and often beautiful words.
The same can be done with fiction writing, but there's something more pure about poetry.
Good poetry flows naturally and brings the reader into the poet's mind.
It's often an escape from reality, but in the purest form - unlike most fiction.
Most poets are eccentrics.
They have an interesting way of doing things.
But this is also what makes them brilliant.
Of course, some great poets are conventional folks in which you would never expect poetry to be a part of their repertoire.
For the former, they will often travel to different places in order to feel the scene around them.
A photographer would see the scene around them, and a tourist might smell the scene around them, but poetry is all about feel.
Every location has a unique aura about it.
This allows for new words to flow onto paper, which in turn creates new worlds.
There is another thing poets love in regards to where they write.
They love tranquility.
There is no better opportunity for this than sitting by a fire pit in the backyard at night.
Everyone is inside watching television or already asleep and the poet is outside, taking in nature and the personality of the night.
The crackling fire keeps the poet on his toes and sparks thoughts from past experiences, which can be worked into his new piece of art.
The fire pit itself is rustic, adding the perfect element to the scene.
Upon completion of the first poem, the poet will write another.
This is the type of power a fire outside at night possesses.
Sitting by a fire pit in the backyard isn't the only possibility for a poet.
Poets often have a sense of adventure.
They might be thought of as laid back and artsy, but that's not often the case.
They're willing to put themselves on the line in order to find the right scene, because the right scene could lead to the perfect poem.
For example, a poet might sit above a large rock in the Arizona dessert while peeking down on a burning fire pit aside the poolside at an upscale resort.
The rock the poet sits on would be resort property, but that's what makes it exciting, and what adds flair to the poem he chooses to write.
Poetry is something every person should explore.
It can lead you on many amazing journeys.
