The Fear Demons Versus Audacity
The Fear Factor Have you ever stopped for a moment to think how differently your life would have turned out had you been courageous enough to do what you have always wanted? How would your world have unfolded had fear not gripped you so tightly? What if you paid no attention to this ever present feeling of fear? But what is fear? Where does it come from? And why is it so binding and crippling? Why does fear have such a powerful grip on us? Fear is a scary feeling, simply put.
It's the very loud voice within us that keeps flagging red alerts any time we attempt to make a move to change status quo, or even think of it.
It keeps warning us "not to go there", "not to even think about it", "what will people say if you fail?" Just stop for a second, and think of what impact fear has had on you personally and in various facets of your life...
Do you wake up and report to your job because you love it that much or you are afraid of leaving for obvious reasons? Do you ever wish you were doing something different, something you love and enjoy doing, and getting paid for it? But you can't make the move because you can't see full staircase? You are afraid things might backfire on you and end up being the laughing stock.
Is that where you are at? How many people have lost their relationships due to fear? Or not even started one for fear of losing it all together? For fear of the loved ones walking away from them and hurting them.
People are constantly in a "self-preserving" mode.
Erecting thick walls around them and attempting to keep themselves "safe" from their own feelings.
Fear has no room for trust...
Or another chance.
People have been emotionally and otherwise crushed in relationships that their defenses are upped and have since become impenetrable.
They tread so carefully to avoid the potential heartaches that come with relationships at all costs.
How tragic! Someone once said that the richest place under the sun is the grave yard...
There lies books that were never written, dreams that were not actualized, love that wasn't shared, freedom that wasn't claimed...
What a waste! Thanks to the fear factor! There is another way of doing life.
A life full of courage, audacity and bravery! A life where you take full control of your life and make decisions whose consequences you can bear.
A way of taking calculated risks and not being too afraid to step "out of the house, in case something happened".
This is living fully, not merely existing.
People who have chosen to lead this kind of life have experienced a paradigm shift.
They have a new perspective to life.
They think of impossibilities and "what can be" and not necessarily "what is".
Having said that, anyone in this category, though, has made their share of mistakes and has been humble enough to learn and grow from them.
Living fearlessly is a choice one has to make.
It doesn't just happen! It's never too late to step up your game and kick fear out of our life.
Just go ahead and do what you must do for the common good.
Take control of your life.
It's the only one you got anyway!
