If you spend any time watching television, you know that there are numerous companies out there who all want to offer you the lowest car insurance rate possible.
But, if you take the time to shop around, you may find that the big companies aren't the lowest at all.
There are many companies online that will be able to get you a rate that you can live with and still keep you insured to the level you expect.
There are several factors that go into figuring out what your car insurance rate will be.
Some of these are obvious - whether you are male or female, a teenager or a 50-year-old, and whether you live in the city or a small town.
If you are a 16-year-old boy, driving a red mustang in New York City, you are going to pay an awful lot! But, if you are a 50-year-old married woman, driving an average sedan with a good driving record, then your insurance premium will be very low.
There are exceptions to these rules, however.
The lowest car insurance rate is based on more than these factors and knowing what they are can help you lower your cost.
The speed or horsepower of your car is not as important as the make and model.
A car that is highly prized by thieves will cost a lot to insure, even if its book value is not that high.
And, an older woman with a few tickets may pay more for insurance than a young man with no tickets.
When you are shopping around for the lowest car insurance premiums, keep all of these in mind and make sure that you are getting as much insurance as you can for your money.
Compare rates across several different companies to see what you can get for your dollar and buy the most you can.
