Though this gadget is made for convenience, once stolen, this gadget turned out to make inconvenience to its owner.
Most of the time, important files or data are stored in your laptop.
These may include your photos, videos, personal compositions and even your email, financial and business information.
Since you can use your laptop in public places, it is more exposed to thieves who might just be roaming around you waiting for that perfect moment to steal it from you.
As the rate of stolen laptop increases, the rate of identity theft also increases.
Identity theft is a kind of fraud which involves stealing and using of your identity against you.
Though your laptop has a password, it is now easier to access because of the different features of technology.
Once they were able to open your files which contain your personal information, they can start using your identity to gain benefits and leave you with a severe headache.
But what if your laptop also contains personal information of your co-workers or your relatives? In that case, your identity is not the only one who will be at risk, and it is quite shameful in your part.
Expect that the identity thieves will also use your co-workers or relatives' identity.
It is really a terrifying experience if something which contains important and confidential information is stolen from you by strangers.
But we should not remove the fact that these information can also be stolen by someone we know.
Through borrowing your laptop, important information can easily be transferred and it won't take too long for the file to be transferred.
There are two ways to protect yourself from losing your laptop.

Since laptops are made handy, it is easier for the thief to carry off your laptop once left unguarded so better protect it.
Make sure to keep it in sight and provide a good security on your wireless connections.
Also, choose carefully the places you will be staying at.
Biometrics which includes fingerprint scanners will be helpful but it doesn't guarantee that your thief can not open your laptop.
Another way to protect your laptop is through having insurance.
Several people avail to this kind of insurance because it is somehow cheap.
In order to protect your identity, you should first protect the things which contain the information.
Leaving them unattended will leave you with stolen identity.
Laptops definitely help us to make our tasks easier but bear in mind that these technologies can also make the lives of the thieves much easier.
Even laptops are smaller versions of our personal computers; it may contain lots of information and if stolen, will create big problems to us and to the others who are involved.
Protect your laptops by protecting yourselves.
Laptop security and credible insurance are just few of those ways.
If your protection didn't work, at least you still have a backup which will remind those identity thieves that it isn't so easy to steal something that you protect.
