Do You Buy Discount Make Up? A Look at the Pros and Cons

103 14
Every woman wants to look her best, particularly for appearances in public.
The make up industry in the U.
S.
is a multi-billion dollar market, after all.
Make up is referred to as 'beauty aids' with good reason.
Some of these beauty aids are well worth the price.
Now, how about discount make up products? I've learned that a bit of discretion is required when buying make up of any price, including the discount products.
Some are great, some not so very much.
Here we've got some pointers on shopping for both high-priced and discount make up.
For starters, let's look at lipsticks.
You know that the major brands advertise that they last longer, between applications, with 'richer color' and any number of pluses that may convince you to buy theirs over their competitor's line.
Now, some of the claims may be true, to a certain extent.
On the other hand, when you go to the ladies' room to freshen up, you probably apply just a little so you feel truly gorgeous, right? Among lipsticks in the discount make up lines, they may need to be reapplied regularly anyway, so to me, there's not much of a contest there.
If I can buy three discount-priced lipsticks for the price of one expensive, well-known brand, I don't think my lips will be advertising the fact.
Now, when it comes to mascara, I'm willing to pay a higher price to get a product that truly doesn't smudge, smear or otherwise make a mess on my face.
The mascara brush also matters, if you're aiming for a 'natural' look.
No one wants a set of lashes that looks like this beauty aid was applied with a broom! I don't wear mascara often, so this doesn't dent my budget with much of an ouch.
Remember too, that mascara should be discarded within 6 months anyway.
Is there such a thing as face cream in the discount make up aisle? Yes.
Here, I don't pay top dollar, that's for sure, but I do buy the best I can afford, augmenting my wrinkle-fighting regimen with applications of aloe vera gel a couple of nights a week, along with jojoba oil and the lighter sweet almond oil every now and then.
As for eye shadow, the discount make up lines do a good job, especially in the powdered form.
If eye shadow?pricey or discount - is applied too heavily, you're going to get those creases from blinking in any case, so just go light.
Here's a great tip I've learned: if you're a bit fussy about which brands of make up you use, try getting some make up samples from a number of manufacturers.
You can go online and gather up enough of these free make up samples to fill a couple of make up bags! Try them out?in the privacy of your own home, to avoid embarrassing situations in public?and see which ones you like and those you'd best discard.
Then buy.
I say, absolutely don't shy away from the many excellent discount make up products.
You can save lots of money and still be beautiful! Yes!
