Take Failure With a Grain of Salt

What up y'all? I know it's been a little longer than usual but I've been out of town for a few days on a much needed vacation and there was no wifi anywhere around me! I'm back, refreshed and eager to get back to the grind so let's get to it.
The easiest thing in the world to do is to stop every time you face adversity.
Even easier than that is quitting should something you put your time and effort into backfires or go belly up and that's exactly what some people do without a moment's hesitation.
I'm all about taking the path of least resistance except when it comes to goal-setting and actualizing your purpose-there is no substitute for happiness and sometimes you have to go head up with your problems.
What happened to me only a couple days ago while I was up in Santa Cruz is a perfect example.
My business partners and I are setting up a nation-wide concert tour and we're currently in the funding stage.
We already have an in with one of the largest social networks around but we wanted to see if we could bring in some extra capital (and exposure) by pitching to a couple others.
Since we were already right next to San Francisco, we figured we would set up an itenerary that would knock off all the major banking institutions as well.
As it was a last minute idea, we didn't have time to set up appointments; we just knocked on the various doors.
Know what happened? Nothing.
Often we couldn't even get into the building for some of these companies and those we did get into, we were told that they would look over the information and call us back.
Wouldn't have been bad but we were scheduled to leave the following day to head back to L.
A.
and that five hour trip was not one I personally was looking forward to doing again soon.
As we were heading back to the SUV, I looked around at the faces of my partners and a couple had a downtrodden look in their eyes.
Somehow they probably felt that we had failed in what we were trying to do but I didn't.
I stopped everyone in mid stride and exclaimed to them, "We did a great job!" That we came here as a shot in the dark and was able to leave information at the majority of the places means that the respective possible sponsors will at least know OF us and once we kick this in fully, they'll come back with the quickness! This wasn't a loss to me; it was a gain! I got to see the beautiful city of San Francisco AND kick it with some good friends.
Not a bad way to spend the day.
