Time Management - An Essential Aspect Of Motherhood
Men, well, they have the mind set that they are supposed to earn for their family that is why they don't have to worry about physically taking care of their children.
It is a common sight that women become depressed because of not being able to balance their affairs in life.
This need not be the case.
Here are some great tips on how moms would stop going nuts over family and career matters: 1.
Learn to prioritize.
Accept the fact that you cannot do everything so choose the things that matter most and reschedule the rest.
For instance, if you are being asked to lead a certain community event (and you just can't), then just say no.
Community work is necessary but if your family time would be affected, just let go of it.
2.
Once you have set your priorities, set a time table for all of your scheduled tasks.
Start at your waking hour; then jot down the rest of the hours of the day against the activities that you have to do.
There are now online calendars that you could utilize to organize your schedules; and the great thing about them is that they remind you through an e-mail or a pop-up box when the task is due.
3.
Organize all the baby/kiddie things inside your home.
It is always best to work on tasks when the 'coast is clear'.
Of course, there would always be a clutter of toys on the floor (this is where your disciplinary skills would come in--try to tell the kids to keep their toys when they're done playing).
4.
Give some quality time for each of your kids.
This does not mean you watching the TV together--this is more of a reading time, or play time, it all depends on how old your baby is.
You would be surprised at how calming this bonding moment would be to your kid/s and you would have less disruptions from them during the day.
5.
Exercise to get those necessary endorphines or 'happy hormones'.
If you feel happy and energetic, you would glide through the day without feeling stressed and you would also feel more rested during the night.
Also, when you are brimming with endorphines, you tend to become happier around your kids, and that to them is very important.
6.
If there is someone else in your home, learn to delegate your other tasks.
If your hands are quite full with all of the chores, give the simpler ones to your older kids (washing the dishes or vacuuming the floor).
7.
Take the time to smell the roses--or so as they say.
Have some time for yourself--this could be thirty minutes of reading your favorite novel or a few minutes on the nearby park.
If you feel rejuvenated, you will feel relaxed and no amount of pressure can put you down.
