How to Connect a Weber Gas Grill
- 1). Assemble the grill, using the user's manual to appropriately connect all burners, hoses and pans.
- 2). Connect the propane: Standard propane tanks come with standard support ring sizes; smaller propane tanks have standard support ring sizes as well. Determine which tank your Weber grill needs, and place it in position to attach to the Weber grill. If you are using a gas line from another source, such as a home natural gas line, ensure your support ring fits the ring on your Weber grill. Connect the line or tank to the grill and tighten into place.
- 3). Find any gas leaks: Turn on the propane and smell for leaks. If all knobs on the gas grill are in the "off" position, there should not be any gas smell when you turn the propane on. Take a small amount of soapy water and apply it to the grill and propane connection; if there is a leak, the solution will bubble. Next, apply the solution to the valve/regulator connection within the grill itself. If any connection shows a sign of a leak, turn off the propane.
- 4). Fix any leaks: Remove the connection between the grill and the gas source. Clean the ribbing of any debris or obstruction. Reconnect the grill and turn it on again. If you still smell gas at the valve/regulator connection, turn the propane off and contact a Weber customer service representative according to the instructions in your user's manual.
