    • The Jeep Commander is a mid-size SUV from Chrysler's Jeep division. Jeep produced the Commander between 2006 and 2010. For the introductory 2006 model year, Jeep offered the Commander in two different trim levels: the base model and an up-market Limited model. Buyers could order either model with two-wheel drive or as a 4x4.

    • The Jeep Commander is a mid-size sport utility vehicle with four doors and three rows of seating. It can accommodate up to seven passengers. The rear cargo area is accessible via a liftgate. This engine can produce up to 330 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 375 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. Both engines pair with a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and auto-manual mode.

    • The 2006 Commander Limited 4x4 falls into the mid-size SUV classification with its 188.5-inch overall length and 109.5-inch wheelbase. The front and rear tracks both measure 62.6 inches. The Commander is 74.8 inches wide and 71.9 inches tall. It has a 20.5-gallon fuel tank and 113 cubic feet of interior passenger volume. Depending on optional equipment, the Commander Limited 4x4 weighs between 5,000 and 5,200 pounds. It has 17-inch alloy wheels with P245/65SR17 tires.

    Performance

    • According to Cars.com, the 2006 Commander Limited 4x4 can carry a payload of up to 1,350 pounds and can tow up to 7,200 pounds. It can also accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in 8.6 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 16.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 77 miles per hour. This performance, combined with the Commander's weight, limits fuel economy to around 15 miles per gallon in city conditions and 19 mpg on the highway.
