How to Make Beetle Earrings

    • 1). Cut out two circles from 1/8 inch thick stiff cardboard using a utility knife.

    • 2). Paint the circles on both faces and around the edge in red paint and leave them to dry.

    • 3). Paint a thin black line that goes across about a quarter of the circle on each piece of cardboard. This sections off the head portion of the lady bug.

    • 4). Paint another thin black line that goes from the center of the line that creates the head section, perpendicular across to the other side of the circle on each piece of cardboard. This creates the two wing sections of the ladybugs.

    • 5). Paint black dots into the wing sections, then two white eyes in the head sections of each piece of cardboard. Let the paint dry.

    • 6). Coat each cardboard piece in clear-drying glue and leave them to dry. Add a second coat of glue and leave them to dry. This waterproofs and further hardens the earrings.

    • 7). Glue a stud backing in the center of the back of both cardboard pieces and let them dry before putting on your new beetle earrings.
