Everywhere you go nowadays there seems to be candles for sale, from your local market to your major department store.
They come in all shapes and sizes and an assortment of colours.
What, I wonder, is the fascination we all have with candles? The folklore goes back a long way but even today there's nothing like a candlelit dinner for two to the scene for romance.
In fact, people burn candles for all sorts of reasons; just look at any church or chapel.
We hold candlelit vigils for those we love and light a candle when offering a prayer.
We celebrate Christmas by putting candles on the tree (only nowadays we use fairy lights).
What you are about to read has been handed down from generation to generation and will only work if you put the right kind of emotional energy into the 'ritual'.
When I talk of ritual think in terms of the rituals we go through every day, from brushing our teeth to shaving, to putting on our makeup.
Believe it or not these are rituals we all go through without thinking about their inner meaning.
The next time you buy a candle I am going to ask you to inscribe, draw or paint onto your candle any one of the symbols outlined below and in reflecting on this symbol you just might bring about whatever it is you desire.
I say might because the more sincere you are in your efforts the more likely you'll create the right effect.
Always keeping in mind that the power lies not in the candle but in the emotional energy you put into it.

Choose your candle according to your own personal taste, be it a long tapered one or a short thick one.

Wealth One of the most magic of symbols and will bring wealth into your life in proportion to what you have given in the past.
Don't use this symbol to win lotteries or pick winners at the racetrack.
Goods This symbol represents objects.
Use this symbol to obtain material goods, such as a new car, furniture, carpets, etc.
Woman Bring the woman of your dreams into reality; this symbol also brings the woman in your life a little closer to your heart...
Man Bringing the man of your dreams into your life or, bringing the man in your life a little closer.

The next three symbols are the most powerful yet; in using them you'll bring whatever you want from your life faster than you know (please forgive my scribbling of the symbols, I know you'll make a better job of them).
Order If your life is in chaos, contemplating on this symbol will bring structure into your thinking and your life will begin to improve.
House This is the symbol to meditate upon if you are moving from one house to another or, if you wish to move to a better residence.
Endings This is a powerful symbol and should only be used if you desire to bring an end to any matter that has been worrying you.
