How to Sew a Diaper Wipe Case
- 1). Cut a rectangle from a pretty patterned fabric that measures 10 inches wide by 16 inches long. Use the rectangle as a template to cut a rectangle of lining fabric. Use a waterproof fabric when making the case to insert the wipes directly.
- 2). Lay the two fabrics together with the fabric’s right sides together and sew a straight stitch along one short end.
- 3). Flip one of the fabrics over the sewn edge to put the wrong sides together. Fold the sewn edge upward 5 1/2 inches to make the pouch to insert the diaper wipes.
- 4). Measure the perimeter of the folded case. Add 1/4 inch, and cut a piece of 1/2- or 3/4-inch-wide ribbon to this length.
- 5). Fold the ribbon in half along its length and iron a crease along the fold line.
- 6). Slide the outer edges of the case into the fold of the ribbon and pin the ribbon to the case. Sew a straight stitch all the way around to join the ribbon.
- 7). Fold the short top of the case over until the top reaches about 1 inch away from the bottom of the pouch to create a flap.
- 8). Cut a 20-inch-long piece of ribbon. Fold the ribbon in half and pin the folded center to the back center of the case. Wrap the ribbon around the case and pin it to the case at the bottom of the pouch and at the top of the flap. Sew the ribbon to the case and leave the ends of the ribbon dangling to tie the diaper wipe case closed.
