    • 1). Remove the carpet from the bathroom. Prop the carpet up on two sawhorses so it can dry thoroughly.

    • 2). Fill a clean bottle with equal parts bleach and water. Swirl the bottle gently in a circular motion to mix the contents together. Alternatively, fill the spray bottle with undiluted white vinegar.

    • 3). Spray the tile grout with the bleach-water mixture. Scrub the grout with a scrub brush or toothbrush. Wipe the grout clean with a damp rag.

    • 4). Apply the bleach-water mixture to the dark stains. Allow the mixture to sit on the stains for several minutes. Apply more of the mixture to the stains and scrub with a clean sponge. Continue in this manner until you have removed all dark stains from the floor.

    • 5). Wipe the floor clean with a damp cloth and towel dry.

    • 2). Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water. Add 2 cups of bleach and mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon.

    • 3). Saturate a scrub brush into the mixture. Scrub the dark spots with the scrub brush. Allow the mixture to sit on the bathroom floor for five to 10 minutes.

    • 4). Scrub the dark spots once again with the scrub brush saturated in the mixture.

    • 5). Rinse the floor by wiping with a rag dampened in cool water. Dry the area with a towel. Point fans towards the bare wood floors to help speed up the drying process.
