    Stroke Warning Signs

    • The signs of a stroke include numbness in one or both sides of the body, visual disturbances, difficulty speaking, headache and vomiting.

    Signs of a 'Mini-Stroke'

    • A warning sign for a stroke is something called a Transient Ischemic Attack, or TIA. Oftentimes, these TIA's can indicate a problem with blood pressure or clots, and can indicate a future stroke will occur. It is important to get checked out even if symptoms disappear.

    Heart Attack Warning Signs

    • The signs of a heart attack include chest pain, or discomfort in the neck, back, jaw, arms or stomach. Shortness of breath may occur, with little or no physical exertion, and lightheadedness or nausea may be felt as well.

Signs Leading up to the Incident

    • Women who have had prior health issues such as atrial fibrillation or TIAs should be aware of their risk of a heart attack or stroke.

Risk Factors Leading Up To An Incident

    • Strokes and heart attacks can happen suddenly, so here are a few bad habits that can be avoided. High blood pressure, an unhealthy lifestyle (smoking, drinking, poor eating habits), lack of exercise and clotting disorders can all predispose a woman to cardiac arrest.
