What is the cost of breast augmentation? The main cost is of course in terms of money, followed by time.
But there are other costs associated, depending on the option that you choose, including recovering from painful surgery; having the body deal with anaesthetics and painkillers and the strain of recovery generally on the system.
Although surgery may be the fastest option available the attendant physical "costs" can be quite daunting to some women.
There are a number of alternative breast augmentation options available which require more patience, but can actually achieve a more natural result, and without the requirement for scalpels, anaesthetic and heavy painkillers.
Breast Augmentation Exercises While this option will not actually increase the size of their breasts by much, it will tone them.
You can learn to do exercises in the comfort of your own home that will build up the chest muscles supporting the breasts, achieving a small "apparent" increase in size which is actually a building up of the foundation that your breasts are resting on.
This option will cost nothing but time and effort.
Breast Augmentation with Phytoestrogens Phytoestrogens are plant based compounds that have a similar action to Estrogen in the female body.
There are a number of plants that have a high phytoestrogens content including pueraria mirifica, fenugreek, saw palmetto, wild yam and fennel.
There is some evidence to suggest that the use of these compounds both internally and as a topical cream can generate new breast tissue.
There are a large number of products available in the marketplace.
The cost varies from under $100 to several hundred dollars.
Typically you should purchase enough to trial the products for a 6 month period.
Breast Augmentation Pumps Breast enlargement pumps have been available over the counter now for a while but have had varying results.
The BRAVA system is one of the latest non-surgical breast enlargement systems on the market and they claim to provide long-lasting results.
The BRAVA system works on a system of suction cups, stimulating breast tissue growth through its vacuum action.
However the device must be worn for 10 hours a day for between 10 and 16 weeks.
This options costs $2,500 and a fair bit of inconvenience.
Breast Augmentation with Macrolane Injections Another alternative for breast augmentation is macrolane filler, an injectable made from hyaluronic acid.
The substance is injected directly into the breast area to enlarge and balance the breasts.
It's a more recent development available in the United Kingdom, Singapore and parts of Europe.
It's much less taxing than breast enlargement surgery and can be done under local anaesthetic in less than 30 minutes.
The cost is $5,000 and an additional $2,500 for top-up injections which are usually required 12 months after the original treatment.
Breast Enlargement Surgery The breast augmentation option with the greatest cost is breast implant surgery.
It has the greatest cost in terms of money, costing between $8,000 and $12,000.
There is a cost in terms of time.
You will need to spend a short stint in hospital but will also require a few weeks off work to recover from the surgery.
There is also the cost in terms of the stress on your body, including recovering from the surgery and removing the toxic anaesthetic and painkillers from your system.
Whichever breast augmentation option you decide to go with please consider the cost, not just in terms of money, but also your health.
