How to Correct Overseasoned Stuffing
- 1). Use the stuffing as it is in cold stuffed peppers, since the cold temperature will mute the excess seasoning.
- 2). Mix in an additional cup of bread cubes and another 1/2 cup unsalted chicken stock to thin out the stuffing. Taste the stuffing after adding the bread and stock and add more if needed until the flavor tastes balanced.
- 3). Add 3/4 cup of diced dried fruits per four cups of stuffing to balance out the seasoning with the concentrated sugar in the fruit. This also adds bulk to the stuffing.
- 4). Place the corrected stuffing into a baking pan and pour 1/2 cup of gravy or unsalted chicken stock over the top.
- 5). Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 30 minutes or until hot throughout.
- 6). Taste the stuffing before serving. Top the stuffing with gravy if the flavor of too many additional herbs and spices is still too strong.
