How to Approximate Your Frame Size
- 1). Extend a cloth measuring tape on a flat surface.
- 2). Place your wrist across the tape. Use your other hand to bring the tape over the wrist at the smallest part.
- 3). Bring the opposite end of the tape around the wrist and overlap with the first end. Note the number where the tape overlaps. This number is your wrist size.
- 4). Enlist the help of a second person to measure your exact height.
- 1). Categorize as small-framed a woman under 5 feet 2 inches with a wrist size less than 5-1/2 inches. A medium-framed woman is one who has a wrist that measures 5-1/2 inches to 5-3/4 inches. A woman whose wrist measures over 5-3/4 inches is large-framed.
- 2). Group women 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 5 inches with a wrist size less than 6 inches as small-framed. Women the same height whose wrist sizes are from 6 inches to 6-1/4 inches are medium-framed. Those with wrists that measure over 6-1/4 inches are large-framed.
- 3). Classify women over 5 feet 5 inches with wrists measuring less than 6-1/4 inches as small-framed. Medium-framed women are those the same height whose wrists are between 6-1/4 inches and 6-1/2 inches. Women with large frames are those with wrists that are over 6-1/2 inches.
