Three to five servings of vegetables per day is best for you.
Fruits.
Fruits belong to the list of diabetic foods because these contain high fibers that are needed to help your body regulate your blood glucose.
However, you should carefully pick the fruits you are eating because some fruits have high sugar content.
Eating fruits with a lot of sugar will raise your blood sugar rather than lower it.
Two to four servings a day will help you balance your diet.
Milk.
Milk is another food a diabetic can eat.
Because milk products contain high amounts of calcium and protein, as well as many vitamins and minerals, they are considered to be highly beneficial for diabetics because they also have the risk of developing osteoporosis.
Just remember to choose milk products that are low in fat or non-fat because high-fat dairy products are detrimental to your health.
Two to three servings of milk daily is best recommended.
Meat.
Meat contains high amounts of protein that is needed by the body for energy.
It is best to eat lean meat, poultry and fish rather than cuts that have fat in them.
Four to six ounces of meat that is distributed through out the day is the best recommended diet.
