Alison Sweeney promised she'd return to Days of Our Lives, when she exited the show on May 23, 2014, and she wasn't kidding. Three short months after taping her exit scenes from the NBC soap, she's back! Albeit not playing Sami Brady, the character she created and portrayed for 21 years.
Instead, Sweeney is back directing at the show. The actress shared the news on Twitter: "Aww! It's like going home.
So happy 2 b back in Salem - directing! Love visiting my peeps. @laurenkoslow @DeidreHall."
Sweeney, who'd directed at Days a number of times during her tenure with the show, has always loved that aspect of the business. In fact, she recently served in the same capacity at General Hospital. Her Port Charles episodes began airing on August 15.Â
Between her behind-the-scenes work at Days of Our Lives and General Hospital and her hosting gig on NBC's The Biggest Loser, which is set to return for its 16th season on September 11 at 8 pm, it looks like Sweeney has been keeping plenty busy.
Look for Sweeney's Days episodes to begin airing in early 2015.
