Monterey Bay Aquarium A Great Environment For Children And Seniors: View From A Private Duty Caregiver Serving Carmel, Carmel Valley, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Gilroy, Gonzalez, Greenfield, Hollister, King City, Marina, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach, Salinas, San Juan Bautista, Seaside And Soledad California The Monterey Bay Aquarium announced that they reached an amazing milestone this year. Two million schoolchildren have visited the Aquarium, all free of charge. It's part of the non-profit's mission of giving back to the community and Executive Director Julie Packard was told by a retired Salinas-area principal that her school maintained a steadfast commitment to annual Aquarium field trips even when the economy was tanking. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is the only aquarium in the country that offers group admissions and classroom curriculum free of charge regardless of where they come from. What a wonderful story. The aquarium has built one of the most amazing places over the past 27 years, it's great for teaching children and it's also a stress-free environment where seniors can go to walk around and look at the fascinating creatures that live there. I am a member and Family inHome Caregiving provides free tickets to our employees who can then take our clients there free of charge. Caregivers can also go there with their families to relax and enjoy. It's amazing how it can change your outlook. We've found it's particularly helpful for those with Alzheimer's disease which can get confused and agitated by the normal things they encounter in their everyday lives. The aquarium is a place that you can just watch and wonder. I remember taking my grandmother there, and she would be amazed not just by the animals, but by the vibrant colors many of them have. Please support the aquarium if you can.About Richard Kuehn & Family inHome Caregiving of Monterey:After more than a decade of caregiving, both in a professional environment and for a 97 year old family member I was dissatisfied with service from local caregiving agencies. I became convinced of the need for a service which provides very personal assistance to elderly and founded Family inHome Caregiving serving the Monterey Peninsula.
