How to Clean Water Stains Off Fabric
- 1). Treat the stained fabric immediately. Place an absorbent paper towel on an ironing board and spread it out long enough so that you can lay the fabric on the paper towel.
- 2). Turn the fabric inside out. Place the stained section face down on the paper towel-covered ironing board. Spread the fabric out evenly.
- 3). Soak a small cloth in lukewarm water and wring it out so it remains wet and steamed. Dab the cloth all over the stained area so it's damp, not soaked.
- 4). Iron the fabric on a dry setting that's appropriate for the type of fabric. Iron the area until it's completely dry.
- 5). Move the stained portion of the fabric to a dry spot on the paper towel. Repeat the previous two steps until the water stain is completely gone. If a stain remains, rub the ringed area with a spoon.
