Four Ways to Quickly Change Your Life

During a recent workshop I led, one of the participants asked, "How quickly can I change my life?"Great question.
Without hesitating I told her and the group that you can change your life in an instant.
The women looked at me with puzzled expressions.
The rest of the event was devoted to exploring what it takes to change our life and that, in truth, we can begin the process instantaneously.
If you are ready to "blast off" and propel your self in a new and better direction, here are four ways to quickly change your life: 1.
Question, and Change, Your Beliefs Everything we have in our life is based on our beliefs.
From childhood on, we absorb information from those closest to us, from our society and culture, and from our experiences, and we form deeply-rooted belief systems about our self and the world.
These belief systems affect every choice and decision we make: did we go to college or not; what career choices have we made; who did we choose to be in relationship with; do we honor and care for our body; are we responsible with money; and so on.
If something is not working in your life - or has never worked well - then you must question and change your beliefs in that area.
This is a crucial first step to change.
And, you can do it quickly.
It's like flipping a switch.
If your relationships don't work, what do you believe about your self and others when it comes to love, trust, support? Can you flip those beliefs around so that they become positive and affirming? You can do this for any area of your life that you want to change! 2.
Change Your Focus Successful people focus on what they want and make sure their time and energy is spent in pursuit of their goals.
They are not blown like the wind in every direction, losing sight of what they want.
If you want to change your life quickly, notice, every day, what you focus on.
If you want more money, are your actions consistent with making more money, or do you waste time on non-essential tasks or distractions? Track your self for a few days and see what you focus on.
Then see if that is really where you should be putting your energy.
Change your focus and you can change your life.
3.
Be Clear About What You Want and Why In my workshop that night, we discussed how life often comes down to a "cost/benefit" analysis.
We do what we do because there is a benefit or payoff to us - even if the results are negative.
We may overeat because eating fills an emotional need or gives us a sense of control.
We don't like the result, yet we'll only change when the cost to us - in this case, poor health, feeling unattractive, wanting to improve our body and appearance -outweighs the benefits.
If you want to change an important part of your life, and begin the process quickly, then you must get in touch with your feelings about your life today and how it will feel once you have the life you want.
You must know what you want and why you want it.
4.
Act According to What You Want Everything we do or don't do has repercussions.
The man you married - or the one you didn't marry - changed your life.
The job you took, or didn't take, affected your life.
And so on.
If you want to change your life quickly, you must know what you want and take actions that are consistent with those goals.
If you want to lose weight, stop eating junk, make better food choices, and move your body! If you want to save money for a dream trip, stop spending on things you don't need or truly want.
When you know what you want, recall what it will feel like to have it, and act in accordance with your goals.
These are four ways to quickly change your life.
You can see progress immediately.
Of course, some changes take longer than others, however, if you begin somewhere and begin soon, your life will improve dramatically.
