Aging Gracefully & How to Look Younger Than You Really Are

Aging gracefully is a practice that almost everyone can do on their own without expensive salon treatments or surgical intervention.
You have to start very early with good skin care and a regular exercise program but it will pay off in dividends for you as you age gracefully and belie your age.
First of all, throw out all the expensive department store creams and lotions which have cost you a mint.
They promise you youth and loss of wrinkles but have they worked.
Not likely.
You are conned into believing that the ingredients of a sea urchin and a piece of seaweed might make the difference on your fragile skin.
At first, you might detect a difference but over time the effect wears off and you are back to square one.
Wash your face with a non-abrasive cleanser, rinse and then use mineral oil or witch hazel as a final treatment.
Many lovely women still swear by petroleum jelly as their favourite moisturizer.
Secondly, start walking, not in a gym, but outside with a friend or your spouse and enjoy the fresh air.
Walking is the best cardiovascular exercise for both internal organs and your strength in the legs and upper body.
If you require a walker or a cane for assistance, then take them along.
Make sure that you walk at least once a day.
Take your dog along and give him some quality time.
Drink lots of water, fresh clean water.
Avoid buying bottled water as it is expensive and make your own fresh water.
Use a filtration system of your choice, put it in a stainless steel thermos with ice cubes and off you go to work or golf.
Allow yourself one cup of coffee or tea a day and lots of freshly squeezed juice or water.
Do not drink unless it is a glass of red wine with your evening meal.
Lay off the martinis! Eat properly, snack lightly and partake of each food group.
Moderation in everything is important but especially so with sugar, salt and white flour.
Load up on fresh vegetables and fruits, lean meats, low fat milk and limited carbohydrates.
Lay off the candy and chocolate, fast food joints and soda pop.
Teach your children at the same time to eat properly and serve delicious meals.
Pack a good lunch for work and avoid going out with the gang to a diner or cafe.
Aging gracefully also means looking your age.
Your deportment and behaviour speaks volumes about you and you should always dress the part, carry yourself with dignity and behave as though you were 40 years or older.
Avoid dressing like a teenager because those outfits do not flatter you at all.
Choose stylish, classic numbers which can mix and match with each other.
Have a knee length cocktail dress ready for evenings out with your spouse or lady friends.
Picture what Lady Diana would wear to a business meeting or an evening out! Lastly, do what is best for you and your family.
Having a family to look after can keep you young and loved.
Then you get to be a grandparent and that is even more fun! Aging gracefully is the best thing you can do for yourself and others.
