How to Check the Status of Your New Jersey State Tax Refund

1). Obtain a copy of your New Jersey state tax return. The tax return contains information that you need to check the status of your state tax refund.
2). Call 800-323-4400 from a touch tone phone. If you are not within the state of New Jersey at the time you call, dial 609-826-4400 instead.
3). Listen to the greeting and select the option to access the Automated Refund Inquiry System.
4). Enter your Social Security number on your phone's keypad when prompted. Press "1" to confirm the number is correct.
5). Enter the anticipated amount of your refund on the phone's keypad when prompted. Press "1" to confirm the number is correct.
6). Listen to the status of your refund and hang up when you are done.
