Giving small, cheap gifts is equally as good as giving expensive, large gifts if you put enough thought into it. As the saying goes, it is the thought that counts. Think about the person you are buying for and what he does for a living as well as what he typically needs or uses. You can buy lots of small, cheap gifts in bulk and give them out as well. For example, if you are a teacher, buy a lot of the same thing, and give them to your students as presents. - Candles can be bought in bulk for cheap. They come in all different colors, shapes and scents. You can easily dress up a plain candle by tying a large bow around it, making it decorative. The bow also makes it so that you do not have to wrap the present if you do not want to.
- Get a clear, decorative jar, like a mason jar, and fill it with candy. Choose a colorful candy, like M&Ms or Skittles so that it is a bright gift. You can also fill it with candies that are seasonal. For example, if you are giving a gift around Halloween, fill the jar with the small pumpkin candies, or any other distinctive candy.

- Make a cookbook for someone with all of your favorite recipes in it. This only costs you the price of the notebook, and a bit of your time. You should include pictures of the meals as well, so the person knows what he is making.
