While browsing the toy department at the local Walmart I discovered what most children probably have already seen and longed to have…FurReal Friends [http://www.FurRealReview.com]. These real looking animals (dogs, cats, ponies, parrots, etc.) not only look like the real thing, but also act and sound that way as well. Requiring little or no assembly and no housebreaking makes these "pets" ideal for many families who want to add an animal into the mix.
They seem expensive…are they worth it?
This is probably the most important question to ask when considering what to buy for your children this Christmas. FurReal Friends have been around for several years now, although recently they have come out with some really awesome pets. The FurReal Cuddle Chimp is no exception. Perfect for both the young and old and anywhere in-between, this little guy is sure to put a smile on anyone's face. The chimp moves and sounds just like a real chimp, and even when you aren't playing with it, it will make noise and act real (which may be frightening in the middle of the night, so be sure to turn it off while not playing).
With prices ranging anywhere from $12.00 to several hundred it is easy to think, well maybe I'll just get one of the smaller, less expensive pets (like the Kitty Cat White, or the Maltese Teacup Pups) and see how they work before we go and spend $200 for one of the larger animals. Unfortunately the lesser expensive pets, although cute and adorable, don't do even a portion of what the expensive FurReal Friends pets will do. They do move and make sounds, but aren't realistic in the least. If you are willing to spend a little money and get the Cuddle Chimp or Butterscotch Pony, you will not be disappointed.
