How to Pay Federal Extimated Tax Online
- 1). Enroll at the Eftps.gov so you can make estimated tax payments throughout the year (see References). You will need to enter your personal information and a Social Security number or federal identification number if that is what you use for work. If you plan to use more than one bank account to pay the estimated taxes, you must enroll each bank and have a separate pin number for each one.
- 2). Wait for your application to be accepted. You will receive a pin number from the EFTPS acknowledging your acceptance into the program. The pin number is used along with your password and username to make payments.
- 3). Make payments by setting up the automatic payments schedule. You can enter the system and set up payments automatically so you never have to worry about forgetting a payment. If you decide you don't want automatic payments, you can change the payment plan up to 2 days before the scheduled day.
- 4). Make manual payments by visiting Eftsp.com every 3 months when you have a payment to make and manually make a payment.
