Find a place that has space, plenty of fresh light and ventilation but is covered from the elements.
While outdoor activities are always fun, there has to be an area where your kids can take shelter in case it's too hot, rainy or just to cool down.

Hygiene and sanitation.
It may be an obvious thing to point out, but you have to ensure you have restrooms, water, first aid kits etc all ready and available at ALL times.

For younger kids, think about hiring an attendant for all their little boys' room or little girls' room help.

Network with parents and School associations to get a feeling of the sort of activities parents would want their kids to be part of.

Advertise within your neighbourhood, and it would help if you can enlist some neighbourhood moms to the cause.
