How to Remove Red Paint From Beige Carpet
- 1). Lay a few white paper towels over the red paint to soak up as much of the paint as you can. Press lightly on the paper towels to absorb the liquid, but do not rub. Rubbing will only push the paint into the carpet fibers.
- 2). Mix 1 cup warm water, 1 tsp. laundry detergent and 1 tsp. white distilled vinegar and pour over the red paint stain. Let it sit for five minutes and begin blotting with a white towel. Blot from the outside in to avoid spreading the stain.
- 3). Wait for the carpet to dry once you finish blotting. Vacuum the area and inspect the stain to see if any red paint is still left on the carpet.
- 4). Wet the remaining red paint with club soda. Sprinkle salt over the area and wait 10 minutes for the salt to absorb the remaining paint. Blot with another white towel and flush the area clean with warm water. If some salt crystals remain, wait until the carpet dries and suck them up with a vacuum.
- 5). Resort to using lacquer thinner if any traces of red paint remain on the beige carpet. Soak the area for five to 10 minutes and then blot up with a clean white towel. Test an inconspicuous area of your carpet first to make sure the lacquer thinner won't change the color of your carpet. Flush the area with warm water.
