- 1). Select the "Menu" button on your cell phone display. Click on "Messaging" then "Create Message."
- 2). Type in the phone number for the person receiving the text message. Also, type in the appropriate message using your keypad. The keypad either has numbers that correspond to letters that allow the user to create words, or your phone has a full keyboard allowing you to text directly without punching a numeral to find a letter. You will see the message as you input it into the text message.
- 3). Click "Send" after reviewing the contents. Make sure that you review, because you will not be able to cancel or retrieve the text message once you send it.
- 4). Check the status by clicking on the "Menu" button again. Then, click on "Messaging." Scroll to "Sent Messages" to make sure that the text message has been sent. If the message is in the sent messages box, it was successfully sent. Some service providers allow for tracking identification, which allows you to determine that the receiver got the message and opened it.
