- 1). Insert a shower drain snake down your shower’s drain. This is a long, thin plastic line with notches running down the sides and it is designed to grab hair from the drain. Pull the snake back out from the drain, then remove and discard the hair. Continue doing this until you can no longer remove any hair from the drain.
- 2). Spray your shower with a commercial soap scum removing product and follow the directions on the label. Wipe down the shower with a rag and see how much of the grime has been removed. Rinse the shower to remove all the cleanser. Any remaining cleanser will set and become grime.
- 3). Use a pumice stone to scrape away hard to remove grime. The stone uses friction to force the grime from its place. Pumice stones are bulky, so they will not work great for smaller areas. For smaller areas, use a razor blade. Razor blades are thin and can fit in all the tiniest places in your shower, making it perfect for detailing the final look.
