• If your dad enjoys drinking beer, give him a home brewing kit. These kits have everything that he will need to make his own beer, from a large cask, to bottles to different kinds of flavors. Making his own beer could become a fun hobby for him that he can share with his friends.

• Many men enjoy watching sports and most have a favorite game, player or coach. Choose a sports collectible gift, such as a signed baseball cap, a football that was used in a game or an autographed copy of a sports book. This is something that he likely does not already have and he will treasure it forever.

• When your father has a hobby that he enjoys, consider purchasing a gadget for him that will help him with his hobby. For example, if he enjoys going hiking, purchase a global positioning system that will help make sure he does not get lost on the trails. A golfer might enjoy a range finder that will tell him how many yards there are to the hole. For a father who enjoys fishing, consider a fish finder so that he can be sure he is casting his line in the right spot.
  
  

Donation

• When your father truly does not want any gifts or you can't think of anything that he might want, consider giving a donation to charity in his name. If he has a charity that he volunteers with or donates to often, donate to that organization. Otherwise, choose a charity that you think he would appreciate. For example, if he is a dog lover, donate to a local animal shelter.
