As Christians Are We Hypocrites?

Let me start by saying I'm not writing this to convert anyone into religion.
We all have our beliefs in religion and what purpose it serves in each of our lives.
I will say I do think there is a place for religion in our life.
In fact, there should be so I wanted to share a few of my thoughts and feelings from last week.
As a Christian myself, I do believe in a higher power and that there is a plan God wants us to follow.
Sometimes I think we try to control our lives more than we should and not allow him to lead us.
We have this feeling of doing things our way and often times need to take a step back and follow what is in our heart for God.
I heard a statistic that 80 percent of people claim to be a Christian.
Though I do not doubt people are Christian in their thoughts and beliefs, the Pastor's comment about being a hypocrite struck me.
It really has had me thinking about that, which I think was his intent.
He did a good job with that.
So let me restate his question to you.
When you think of the word Christian or what you feeling being one entails, what pictures come to your mind? Do you see love, helping other people, showing care to someone else in need possibly? Do you feel a sense of rejoice in believing there is an eternal love and place that follows? Are we all people of helping hands? Now, did you anywhere see or picture hypocrite? Are you building the relationship with God the way you should? Do you really put him first in heart before your loved ones, including family and friends? He is the one after all we should love most, which should get the inner most part of our heart.
The one who will always be there to lead us or get us back on track if we should fall.
Religion is not a topic I would talk or write about daily.
It was the statement of my pastor that just struck me.
I wanted to share it with the readers of this and hope maybe it has struck you as well.
Relationships are an important thing in our lives and having one with the most important person in our life is often not taken to heart as much as it should.
These were just some left over thoughts I had from church.
I hope you found this inspiring or insightful in your own way.
If you feel so inclined please let someone else know how your feeling.
