You have accepted an invitation to attend a teenage girl's birthday party, but now you have to decide what to get her. You might not be, and may have never been, a teenage girl, so you need to find out what they like. The key is to find out what types of hobbies and activities she enjoys participating in. If you can find this out, it will reduce the amount of time and stress involved in choosing a gift that will be well received on her birthday. - Give her a chance to save her memories with a digital camera. A teen girl will have opportunities to take photographs of events, such as her first date, formal dance and vacations with friends. Recording these events using a digital camera or digital video recorder will allow her to relive the events that shaped her developmental years when she looks back at these experiences.
- Once she downloads her photographs from her camera, she will need a way to display them. She could print them out and put them in frames, but she will need a lot of frames to display all of her photographs. A digital photograph frame will allow her to share all of the photographs on the memory card from her digital camera on a single frame.
- A teen girl may have to balance a large amount of work, school and social commitments. To help her keep these organized and manage her schedule, buy her a personal organizer. This could come in several different forms, from a organizer book, a hand-held electronic organizer, or even a cell phone that includes an organizer function within its software.
- Help her decorate her room to claim it as her own personal space. Wall decorations, such as posters, photograph frames and wallpaper, can be purchased for her as a gift. Bedding sets will allow her to decorate her bed to match the decorations throughout the room. Other ways for her to decorate her room include items for her desk, such as lamps and figurines that show her interests, such as sports or artistic hobbies.
- Allow her to complete her school work and keep in touch with friends with a Netbook computer. A Netbook is a small computer, typically with a screen between seven and nine inches in size from one corner to the other. A Netbook can fit in a large purse and can access the Internet through a wireless connection to allow her to answer email, surf the Internet, and use word processing software instead of having to use a desktop computer.
