Building camaraderie among your employees does not have to wait until after the holidays. Use your office holiday parties to create a theme for team-building activities. These will help your employees learn to work together during the activity, which translates to improved communications in the workplace. - During an office holiday party, host a workplace scavenger hunt. Break up a large group into smaller groups of three or four. Offer each group a set of clues in a list. Each clue should point to an item at the office. The first team to collect all of the items indicated by the clues on their list wins.
- During the holidays, gather your employees into groups of three or four. Purchase children's bicycles or toys that require assembly. Give each group the same number of toys and challenge them to piece together all of the toys. The first team finished wins. Donate all of the toys to a local children's shelter or charity.
- A holiday favorite, gingerbread houses often require more than one pair of hands for their construction. Divide your employees into smaller groups to compete for the best-designed gingerbread house, which they must construct. The employees then vote on their favorite, and all of the houses get donated to charity after the event. Do a twist on this by having a cake- or cookie-decorating contest for the most creative design by a group of your employees.
