Simple-As-Pie Prospecting Secrets
These things are so simple that almost everyone already knows how to do them.
You don't need to take a class to learn these skills.
As a matter of fact, you probably learned these skills when you were a child.
First and foremost, leaders or master prospectors don't communicate with prospects, they build relationships with people.
They have real conversations, ask real questions and listen.
This is the key difference between a master prospector and an amateur, so let's look into this a little deeper.
Most people are so anxious to get the sale and say everything right, that they forget to listen.
Even people who have had lots of training and know how to handle every objection and how to close the deal admit that it is often hard to get to the point in the conversation where you need those tools, if you haven't acted like a real person in the beginning.
The struggling MLM'er is usually so excited to be finally talking to someone, that it seems like a waste of time to chit chat about family, goals, business, and fun.
You got on the phone to close the deal, so if you aren't moving forward you are procrastinating, right? WRONG! Put it this way.
Would you rather buy a car from a smooth talking salesman with all the right answers who can't remember you name, or the fumbling idiot that knows that your kid, Alex, will love to watch Cars 2 in the drop down DVD player and like the extra drink holders in the back seat? You don't need someone to be "the best" to sell you something.
But everyone hates to give money to someone they don't like.
Here's an interesting fact.
People will choose a doctor with multiple malpractice suits who is nice and treats them well, over a doctor with a clean record that is all business.
If people would risk their life just to have a real relationship, don't you think they spend their money the same way? Ask questions about your prospects life.
Be genuinely interested.
Listen to their answers.
(Most people love to get sidetracked talking about themselves.
If your guy isn't that type, he will steer you back to business quite quickly.
) When you listen to people talk about their lives, they assume that you are not selfish.
You can't be a slimy salesman without being selfish.
Are you connecting the dots here? Secondly, make a habit of finding the good and the strength in every person you meet.
After you find it, tell them about it.
People rise to the occasion, almost every time.
If you can tell someone about the potential you see in them, they will do everything in their power to not let you down.
Leaders inspire greatness.
If you create an army of people who want to be the champion that you see inside of them, that is an unstoppable force.
The key is to never lie.
You must learn how to genuinely find the good in each and every person and focus on that strength.
Not only does this inspire those around you, but think about how good you will feel when you realize that you have a team of truly capable people.
People want to be around people who make them feel good.
Maybe you haven't sponsored even one person, but that does not stop you from making people see their true potential and they will want to join you just for that reason.
If you use these two techniques, your prospect automatically assumes that you are a nice person who is not selfish.
Plus you notice the good in them which puts their insecurities at bay, allowing them to dream big.
Then they start believing in themselves.
So if you can do these two very simple things, that involve no selling or special skills, people will start asking you how to get on your team.
Doesn't that seem way easier than memorizing a script.
You know how you think the pros make it look so easy, well this is why.
