      Asheboro is located in the gently rolling hills of North Carolina. The area is home to a number of restaurants that offer French cuisine, a preference dating back to its historic roots. The village was founded on Christmas Day in 1796 and was named for Samuel Ashe, the governor at that time. The Asheboro-Greensboro area is connected by Interstate Highway 73. The corridor offers easy access to the Greensboro French restaurants.

      A French country home houses this bistro, and the grounds include an expansive vegetable and herb garden. High, red-brick walls surround another garden with an outdoor patio. There is a casual and comfortable indoor dining room. French cuisine choices from the menu include: confit of duck leg; steak frites; grilled top sirloin with pommes frites and red wine sauce; and New York Strip au Poivre with pan-fried potatoes and brandy Madeira sauce. The chef and proprietor completed an internship at L'Auberge Bretonne in La Roche Bernand, France. The bistro is open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday. This bistro is located about 25 miles northwest of Asheboro.

      Traditional French cuisine highlights the menu at this cafe with a bistro vibe. Diners can choose from escargot bourguignon, a French cheese platter, lemon chicken paillard, duck confit, coq au vin and more. The interior dining room offers upholstered chairs and no seat is more than 16 feet away from the windows overlooking the gardens. Outdoor dining is offered; the patio is adjacent to more than two acres of open space with a stream. The wine list is extensive. The restaurant hosts cooking classes and live music on occasion. The bistro is open for dinner seven nights a week; breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. This bistro is located about 25 miles north of Asheboro.

      On the outside, this historic building has a red brick and glass block façade. The interior offers semiprivate banquettes as well as large tables with white cloths. An open-air kitchen allows guests to observe the food preparation. French cuisine offerings include starters of asparagus cream soup or a smoked goat cheese tart. Entrees include white truffle potato dauphinoise, seared duck breast and roasted rack of lamb with chick pea croquettes. Lunch is served Monday through Friday, and dinner is served Monday through Saturday. The restaurant is located 25 miles northeast of Asheboro.
