Sony Ericsson Releases an Eco Friendly Mobile Phone Handset Called the Elm
In the past Samsung has been released what was terms a "Green mobile phone" and now Sony Ericsson have followed suit with the release of the Elm.
The Elm is a compact and lightweight mobile phone measuring 110x45x14mm and weighing 90g, which is lighter than a lot of other devices on the market.
This is really ideal for those users who want to do their best for the environment the SE Elm has been made out of recycled plastics and is free from hazardous chemicals, which can take so long to break down when.
Using older parts will also help to cut back on the energy it take to manufacture of handset from start to finish.
Within the package is a low power consumption charger, e-manual and lessened packaging.
Sony have tried to make the Sony Ericsson Elm as green as possible with a green calculator, and Walk Mate eco application, to help you save energy and cut back on waste.
In terms of features and functions, the Sony Ericsson Elm mobile phone and it's slider brother phone, the Sony Ericsson Hazel, offer a similar experience - which is a good one.
Both of these Sony handsets come with a 5 mp autofocus digital camera, web browser with Wi-Fi and HSDPA, GPS, media player, FM radio and Bluetooth.
These are all pretty standard features, but it is good to know that these have not been dropped from this handset.
Just because its green, you will not be lacking online activity functionality.
Users will have complete access to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, that are integrated for fast access to all the latest gossip and there are some extra multimedia features including TrackID and MegaBass.
Another highlight is Intelligent Volume Adaption and Noise Shield for enhanced call quality.
The Elm is a good mobile phone that manages to mix an excellent standards with being environmentally friendly as well as looking trendy.
This is a good move which more handset producers would be looking to follow.
At the end of the day, when we open up the box for our new mobile phones, we often get a lot of waste.
We get 2 or 3 booklets and guides, which we never look at and each component of the mobile phone is packaged which is another good waste.
We say, well done Sony and lets see more of this in the future.
