Hi, I'm celebrity hairstylist, Darico Jackson, and today I'm going to show you how to blow dry African-American hair with a bristle brush. Now there are a couple things that you're going to need. You're going to need a blow dryer. You're going to need a bristle brush and you're going to need product. Today I'm going to be using Supreme Oil by Mizani. So first, we're going to start with a little oil. Make sure you are getting oil with some properties that is going to help to condition the hair. You might want to find something that has natural oils like Argon oil or Sunflower seed oil or Jojoba oil. They're always good for strengthening the hair from the inside out and also it protects the hair from the heat. In addition to that it will help you during the smoothing process. You want to start with a small section at a time at the bottom of the section, when you're positioning the brush you want to get it up under there really good with a nice amount of tension. It's going to provide the smoothness. All you have to do is apply the heat. You're going to have the blow dryer in the direction of the brush so that when you're smoothing the hair you can slide it out and make it follow and it will slide through. After you're done with that you want to get up underneath the strand because there is hair up under there and you want to smooth it there as well. So after you're done with that you want to take your brush and just kind of anchor it in the top just to get it even a little bit smoother because we know that African-American hair is a little coarser at the base. And that's how you blow dry African-American hair with a bristle brush. I'm Darico Jackson and thanks for watching.
