- 1). Measure the circumference of your head with a tape measure. Cut a two-inch wide band of felt that measures the same circumference as your head. This will be the brow band of your kufi. Be sure to add two extra inches at the end to allow for an overlap. Affix the ends using a stapler or hot glue gun.
- 2). Cut four more separate pieces of felt. Each piece should measure 1 x 12 inches. Cross one piece over another to form an 'X' at the center. Hot glue or staple the pieces in place. Repeat the process with the remaining two pieces.
- 3). Position the two-inch brow band in place around the 'X' pieces, making sure they are evenly spaced. Attach the 'X' pieces to the brow band by sewing, stapling or gluing them in place.
- 4). Cover the staples. This is easily done by lining the inside of the kufi with masking tape.
