- Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
Let's begin...
Gathering The Supplies
Before you start any project it is easiest to gather together all of the supplies. For this project you will need:
- An Assortment of Green Paper - Construction Paper works best, but you can also use Cardstock
- Scissors
- School Glue or Craft Glue
- Clear Acrylic Spray
- Pin Backing - You can also use a safety pin
Shamrock Template
You will need a shamrock template to use for your pin. You can use the one above by right-clicking on it and choosing to print. You can also save it onto your desktop and then print it if you like.
If you prefer, draw out your own shamrock shape in the desired size.

Now we can start...
Cut Out Several Shamrock Shapes
Using the template and a variety of shades of green paper, cut out about 20 shamrock shapes. You want them all as close to the same size as possible, but they will not all be identical.
Glue Your Shamrocks Together
Glue all the shamrock cut-outs together, one on top of the other, with the edges lining up as evenly as possible.
Make a Shamrock Stack
You will end up with a stack of shamrock like that shown above. Set this aside now and let the glue dry completely.
Optional: You can sand around the adges of your shamrock so more color can show through the top.
Once the glue is dry, spray your shamrock stack with several light coats of clear acrylic spray, letting the stack dry between coats. This will give your shamrock a nice shine.
Finally, glue the pin backing (or safety pin) onto the back of your shamrock stack. Once the glue is dry, wear your shamrock pin proudly!
