Comparing a Thirst For Life Versus a Thirst For Water

103 27
Most times when we go before God and put our requests before him we are truly asking for our hearts desires.
These are mostly physical and attainable within the world.
The proof that this is the case lies in the fact that, we often return to God to ask for more of these physical desires.
This is a thirst for water.
A thirst for life is a spiritual desire and this is everlasting.
What we get from God in this case stays with us for eternity.
Today our society works endlessly on teaching us liberalism.
This is healthy when it takes away hatred, jealousy, racism, poverty and some of the many darker aspects of our existence.
Unfortunately what also comes with this freedom is a confusion of the interpretation of the word of God.
The truth is although this type of freedom allows each man to exist with his own beliefs it is only a temporal appeasement of the thirst within us.
This is giving us water for a situation that requires life.
This is why we are constantly in change.
This is why we constantly alter the law to suit our needs.
If we continually take from this type of well we would constantly have to seek and build new wells to find water.
The things of this world would always pass and fade away as our physical selves do.
This is why it is necessary to conduct ourselves appropriately in our lifetime on this earth.
We simply have to observe our youth and the things we desired when we were kids to the difference in the things that we desire as adults.
This can transpire in all our physical desires on this earth.
At the later stages in our lives we cannot fulfill the wishes of our hearts because our bodies lag behind our spirits as they age.
If this is the case it makes a good case why we should start building a thirst for life within us from our youth.
If this thirst for life is everlasting then despite our age we would have the spirit to fulfill the wishes of our hearts by God's grace.
A thirst for life lies in the word of God and our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Understanding and obeying God's word and accepting Christ in our hearts enables us to have an everlasting life and gives us the wisdom and faith to exist in our world.
Appeasing this thirst indirectly appeases the thirst for water.
The bible teaches us that we cannot live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from God.
To fully comprehend these words we must search within our hearts for a thirst for life rather than that of just water.
Learning and understanding God's word is not seeking freedom in the flesh but freedom in the spirit.
The values that we are taught are not made to make sense carnally but spiritually.
God's word is not meant for conformity in society but for acceptance into his grace.
A thirst for life is a thirst for the kingdom of God.
