- Gila River Indian Community - just south of the Phoenix area. Pronounced: hee-la
- Havasupai Tribe - located in the Grand Canyon. Pronounced: have-a-soup-pie
- Hohokam Tribe. Now called the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. Pronounced: ho-ho-kam
- Hopi Tribe - northeast Arizona. Pronounced: hope-pee
- Mohave Tribe - located in western Arizona. Pronounced: mo-hah-vee
- Navajo Tribe- northeast Arizona, includes Canyon de Chelley. Pronounced: nav-a-hoe
- Pasqua Yaqui Tribe - southern Arizona. Pronounced: pask-wah yah-key
- Tohono O'odom Tribe - located in southern Arizona, the capital is Sells. Pronounced: tah-hoe-na aut-um
- Yavapai Tribe - north of the Phoenix area, includes Prescott. Pronounced: yav-a-pie
